NOT GUILTY VERDICT

Domestic violence charge in Bellflower. DA wanted 30 days jail 52 weeks of anger management classes (over a $1000 for those), $640 in fines, and 3 years probation. Client would have lost his clean record and lost his right to have a gun for 10 years (for life under federal guidelines)! It's amazing to me that you can lose your constitutional right to bear arms over an alleged push but that's the current state of the law. The founding fathers went to war for these rights over 200 years ago and today a phone call can take them away.

After a six day trial, and two days of deliberations, a jury returned a unanimous verdict of NOT guilty. My client is currently waiting for a DOJ clearance to have his firearms returned and a motion for factual innocence under PC 851.8 is in the works.
