There will be a sobriety checkpoint in Costa Mesa on Friday, March 13 2009 in order to prevent DUI and arrest drunk drivers.
This sobriety checkpoint will be held by the Costa mesa Police Department from 7 PM to 2 AM on northbound Harbor Blvd. at Gisler Ave.
Most drivers that are arrested at sobriety checkpoints feel that they cannot fight the charges and win, but it is possible to fight a DUI charge and sometime’s those fights can be won.
Typically, sobriety checkpoints have been ruled lawful as long as the police follow certain protocol. However, if police fail to follow these guidelines, evidence obtained from these arrests may be excluded or the entire arrest could be thrown out.
